1. General information
This is a subject whose objective is to deepen in the intervention of Social Work with individuals and families (TSIF) in situations of psychosocial distress. For this purpose, it is based on the knowledge acquired in the subject of Concepts, theories and methods, which is why TSIF is a continuation of this subject.
These approaches and goals are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), so that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement: Goal 3: Health and wellness. Goal 4: Education and quality Goal 5: Gender Equality. Goal 10: Reducing inequalities Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
2. Learning results

Relate Social Work with individuals and families to other academic and professional disciplines both at the present time and in the origin of the profession.

Differentiate the types of case management, according to different professional and institutional perspectives

Know and understand the different theoretical and methodological perspectives in social work with individuals and families.

Identify and delimit the professional relationship of individual and family social work assistance

Design the intervention in a case respecting the phases of the methodological process. It attends and prevents the possible personal involvement in the solution of the case.

Distinguish emergency situations, paying special attention to individual or family crisis circumstances.

Correctly choose the instruments, protocols, techniques and administrative or legislative measures necessary and most appropriate to resolve a case at each stage.

Observe and act to resolve risk situations after identifying and defining the nature of the situation.
3. Syllabus
Unit 1: History and purpose of Individual and Family Social Work.
Unit 2: Intervention models and methods. Intervention process.
Unit 3: Techniques and instruments. Intervention systems and contexts: institution, client, professional. Strategies and core competencies in the intervention process.
4. Academic activities
Master classes : 30 hours. Presentation of the theoretical contents by the teaching staff. It is accompanied by written text and expository text. During these classes, activities may be carried out as part of the continuous assessment of the subject.
Problems and Cases and Papers: 30 hours. Small group activities with individual and/or group exposition.
Personal study: 83 hours. Self-employment
Assessment tests. 7 hours
5. Assessment system
1.- Theoretical test (60%). At the end of the subject there will be a written test consisting of multiple-choice questions and/or short answer questions from the required readings and theory presented in class and/or development questions on the application to practical cases. The assessment criteria are: mastery of content, use of terminology, accuracy of concepts, justification of arguments.
For the assisting students, the teaching staff may choose to develop activities during the theoretical classes in order to guarantee the adequate monitoring and use of these, at the beginning of the subject, the weight of each one of them will be indicated.
2.- Analysis of case studies and assignments (40%). Each week, activities of a practical nature will be developed incorporating the social work material seen to date. These activities may be solved individually or in groups as deemed appropriate by the faculty of the subject. The activities will be delivered through Moodle (or the form indicated by the responsible teacher) in due time and form, any delay may result in a penalty in their assessment.
Non-attending students will take a theoretical-practical test according to the academic calendar and they will be indicated the work to be handed in at the beginning of the subject.
